Domestic Bliss

Ever have trouble finding your car keys? look closely...

Then head on over to ode to simple, which I would plug even if it wasn't my sister's blog.

She is a genius when it comes to organizing, and has created a site dedicated to what I'd consider an art. She once feng shui'd my room in such a way as to stop me from having nightmares. My bed was in the coffin position, (bed right in front of the doorway) ack! And she encouraged me to take photos of crap I don't need but didn't want to part with so I could still "hang on" to them.
I think I've talked about how she got all the normal, calm, and organized genes in the family while I'm chock full o' crazy, including my inability to find anything when I need it. They didn't nickname me the Demolition Squad for nothing when I was younger.

Anyways, this goes out to my sister, who is helping to bring sanity to my home this sunday afternoon.
Much better...

You made me laugh out loud! Thansk for the plug and praise. As I scrolled down reading and saw your brand new keychain holder I burst out laughing cuz I think that's awesome. I'm telling you it works. Scott (my boyfriend) never loses his keys anymore too and that's saying something. EVERYDAY he couldn't find his keys. Now he has been converted. I better get on with more posts. I've been lagging a bit. keep it up!

Ugh. I do this all the time with one thing or the other. Which is ridiculous because my apartment is incredibly small so it would be seemingly hard to lose anything. I have been clearing out and getting rid of stuff however - yay! Your sister's site just screams calm enlightenment. I envy that.. ;)

@ sasha - oh my gosh, as soon as I saw your post I ran out to buy a key holder, and of course I left it buried in a Target bag in our dining room and couldn't find it until this weekend...happy I did though!

@ rebecca - you hit the nail on the head. My sister is calm enlightenment - and style, I might add - personified. You think you envy it? Try being related to her! She actually catalogs pages from magazines in separate three-ring binders in plastic sleeves. Far from being obsessive, it's actually one of the most practical ideas I'd ever seen for keeping inspiring photos and design ideas in order. (She's a designer by nature and trade.)
